HISTORY

Women's Specialty Care began in 2001, with founding doctors Warren Volker and Tammy Kelly. The two had met as faculty members at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, and their shared philosophy of evidence-based medicine with a focus on personalized patient care inspired them to begin the practice together.

Back then, the practice was called Women's Health Specialists, operating as part of the University system. The two doctors took the practice private in 2002, and renamed it "Women's Specialty Care."

By 2004, the practice expanded to a second location, and Drs. Volker and Kelly began to partner with additional like-minded physicians. Drs. Steve Harter and Keith Brill joined in 2003, with Drs. Joyce Ivie and Amit Garg coming aboard in 2006.

Today, Women's Specialty Care is the largest privately held women's health organization in Nevada, and the tenth-largest on the west coast. WSC now has several locations and offices and two diagnostic centers.

Throughout the practice's rapid growth, our dedicated team of professionals has remained committed to community efforts like breast cancer walks and health fairs, teaching efforts with other members of the healthcare community, and professional organizations such as hospital medical boards and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology.

Our pledge is to keep growing with our community and to maintain our unique culture of stellar patient care with a personal touch in the process.
