Laborist Team

WellHealth’s Laborist program is one of the most successful in the Las Vegas Valley! “Laborist” most commonly refers to an OBGYN who is employed by a hospital or physician group and whose primary role is caring for laboring patients and managing obstetric emergencies. Our Laborist program is comprised of the following doctors:

Patricia Ann Harding, MD, FACOG

Dr. Harding was born in The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and moved to Brooklyn, New York in her teens. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Medgar Evers College – CUNY, graduating with honors. She received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. For her internship and residency, she returned to her hometown of Brooklyn and completed both in obstetrics and gynecology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Kings County Hospital Center. Dr. Harding is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Harding has been a chairman of the OB/GYN department at two separate institutions and served as the clinical professor at several medical schools across the United States.

Prior to joining WellHealth, Dr. Harding practiced in Florida for more than 23 years. She specializes in high-risk pregnancies and has a passion for helping mothers feel comfortable throughout a high-risk pregnancy. While in Florida, she managed a high-risk pregnancy center in Palm Beach County, called Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center (RPICC), working alongside two of the top maternal fetal medicine specialists in Palm Beach County for 10 years. Dr. Harding is a proud mother of two. She believes in putting the patient’s safety first and thinks that when a patient plays an active role in her care it results in an individualized experience.


Carl Luem, MD, FACOG

Dr. Luem is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine and completed his medical internship at the County Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He served in the military after that. After leaving the service, he finished his OBGYN residency at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. This allowed him to join a private practice in California and then Georgia for the next 38 years. He also taught in an OBGYN program for five years at the Riverside County Hospital in Moreno Valley, CA. Before joining WellHealth, he was head of a family practice clinic in Fairfax, MO.

Dr. Luem loves working in OBGYN and enjoys spending his free time with his large family.

Robert Modugno, MD

Dr. Modugno was born in New York City. He graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, South Africa, followed by a residency in South Africa in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He returned to the U.S. to complete his Chief Residency at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

He has practiced in Chicago, the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, and Atlanta. During his career, he has been in a collaborative practice with Certified Nurse Midwives and supports the physiologic management of labor, water birth, and VBAC. He holds an MBA for Physician Executives.

Dr. Modugno has two grown sons and two wonderful grandchildren. In the past, he has acted in the Atlanta TV and film industry and has been a front man in a rock n’ roll band. He hopes to resume playing tennis in Las Vegas.

Kasey Mayclin, MD

Dr. Kasey Mayclin was born and raised in rural South Dakota. She joined the Army National Guard in January of 2000 and completed training as a mechanic prior to returning to South Dakota to attend college. The following spring, she attended Dakota Wesleyan University where she was the recipient of the Carhart Award in Science as well as the Excellence in Biology Award. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology and minors in chemistry and psychology.

Upon her acceptance into medical school in 2005, she received the Army’s Health Professions Scholarship, and was commissioned as an officer into the United States Army. While pursuing her medical degree, she taught health and sexual education to high school students living in South Dakota’s Native American reservations. Dr. Mayclin received her doctorate of medicine from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in 2009.

Following graduation, Dr. Mayclin completed her OB/GYN residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in 2013, and was awarded top vaginal surgeon in her class. Dr. Mayclin became a staff physician at C. R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, TX following residency. In addition to a full-scope practice as an obstetrician and gynecologist, she also served as the chief of gynecology, assistant department chief, hospital cancer liaison and gynecology surgical safety representative.

She was also appointed to a national Department of Defense consortium focused on reducing medical complications and improving patient safety. During her tenure as staff, she was an adjunct professor for the military residency programs, training the Army’s future family medicine, emergency medicine and OB/GYN providers, as well as an instructor for the physician’s assistant program.

Dr. Mayclin is a tireless and passionate advocate for patients. Throughout her career, she has headed initiatives to improve access to care for patients and their families, while also working on numerous quality improvement projects.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, photography, furniture restoration, reading and yoga.


Scott Olds, MD

Dr. Olds was born in Hawaii but was raised on the mainland. He has lived in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and finished high school in Kansas. He attended the University of Notre Dame and attended the John A. Burns School of Medicine in Hawaii. He completed his residency at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

He started working in private practice in Las Vegas in 1991 and in 2005, joined the faculty at the University of Nevada School of Medicine at UMC. In 2010, he became a part of the WellHealth family as a OBGYN laborist. Dr. Olds has had the pleasure of working at nine different labor and delivery locations in Las Vegas and is consistently impressed with the improvement of obstetrical care in Las Vegas over the last 25 years and into the future.

Chirisse Taylor, MD, MPH

Dr. Taylor has made her way across the country from bustling New York City to sunny Las Vegas. Initially obtaining her undergraduate and master’s degree at Cornell University and Yale School of Public Health respectively, she moved to Boston to attend Harvard Medical School. Upon graduation, she moved to Chicago and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology, and then went on to complete her fellowship in minimally invasive gynecology at Las Vegas Minimally Invasive Surgery. Through this journey, she has dedicated herself to improving the lives of women by providing comprehensive, compassionate and evidence-based care. Her commitment extends both domestically and abroad, as she has completed medical missions in both Africa and Central America. When she is not traveling on a jet plane, Dr. Taylor can still be found hitting the road. She is an avid runner and has completed three full marathons. Dr. Taylor is board certified OB/GYN and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologist (ACOG).
