The term “midwife” has been used for centuries to describe a “woman who is with woman at birth“. Today, the word represents a philosophy of care that focuses on the specific needs of women. Educating and empowering women to make positive choices for their physical and emotional health.
Individuals that obtain the Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) credentials are highly educated and specially trained advanced practice nurses. These CNM’s work together with physicians to ensure the best plan to have healthy women and and healthy babies.
Our CNM’s provide well woman care throughout the life span. This includes management of low risk prenatal care and delivery. Midwives specialize in low risk vaginal births both natural and epidural assisted, in the hospital setting, with the security of knowing that our physicians are immediately available for consultation and assistance when needed.
